CASW Showcase is a website that celebrates excellence in science writing. We honor the work of writers, photographers and artists who participate in science journalism and are grateful that they allow us to present their work here in order to inform and inspire other writers. Trust is implicit in the permissions they have given us.
We extend this trust to our readers. To ensure that this service can continue to be provided to the public, all users must observe the following ground rules:
- You may view, download, and print Showcase content for your own personal and non-commercial use.
- When printing or displaying Showcase content, you may not remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices. This ensures that the ownership of the content is acknowledged.
- You may not republish or distribute any stories, Storygrams or parts of stories or Storygrams on the Showcase site without permission of the rightsholder. Please contact the site manager (firstname.lastname@example.org) for assistance in contacting rightsholders. We will be pleased to facilitate educational uses of Showcase material.
- Blog content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 United States License. You are free to translate, transform, reprint, or otherwise reuse blog items, as long as (a) you are not using the content for commercial purposes; (b) you attribute it to CASW Showcase and the work’s author, preferably with a link back to the original content; and (c) you release any work you build on top of our work under a similar license.
Logos, links and information provided by awards programs will appear regularly on Showcase. This use does not imply endorsement of CASW or Showcase by the programs. Showcase is separately funded and independent of the awards programs, including CASW’s awards. Stories are selected for Showcase by members of the CASW board of directors and other volunteers.
